Special Treat 100,000 Hits : Classic Jazz Fusion Disco Mix

My blog has reached 100,000 visits 2 days ago and it’s still going up!

This would have not been possible without all of you whom have visited and those loyal ones who kept returning to this blog, and I'd like to say a big THANK YOU! You are all my inspiration in keeping this blog alive.

This another accomplishment for me considering this blog started in September of 2008 as a hobby.

I have seen a lot of blogs come and go the past few months. Just letting all you know that I am in it for the long run so this blog will continue until I say so.

Last September 2009, when this blog had it's one year anniversary I also hit the magical number of one of the top one million sites in the world according to Alexa's stats. It was hard but I did it. I was posting more than one mix per day for that whole month!

Blogging is so time consuming and can be good if you are making money on it but in my case I do not make money out of it and I only update my blog when I have the spare time as I do have a regular day job, plus I do have chores to do in my house. In case you guys did not know I am the chef of my maison.

I am also finishing restoration of my classic BMW in time for summer and it is also the start of the fishing season ( I do like sport fishing) and I still have my regular radio shows at Faderwave Radio and DanceRadio Canada.

So factor all of this things that I do on a daily basis plus trying to make a mix tape like every 2-3 days which btw takes at least three hours of time, I am a very, very busy person.

You should all give me credit for still finding time to blog and do mixes and update my Facebook fan page as well. By the time all of this is done in a day's work I am really tired and I tend to sleep late and wake up early everyday. I'm not young anymore so I need to take a break from time to time, and that is what I have been doing now, just taking it easy with this blog.

Because of this milestone I am treating you to this nice mix of classic 70's & 80's jazzy funky disco music, just in time for summer.

FYI, I do not rehearse or practice my mixes, I always do it on the fly and record it on the spot with no retakes, as I do not have the time to rehearse.

100% all original vinyl. Enjoy!

Peace & Love to all of you!
Dave

PS. Sorry no artists in the track listing to avoid getting deleted by the DMCA cops!

The Best Kool & The Gang Medley Mix

Kool & The Gang are an American jazz/R&B/soul/funk/disco group. They originally formed in Jersey City, New Jersey, U.S.A. in 1964.

They went through several musical phases during the course of their recording career, starting out with a purist jazz sound, then becoming practitioners of R&B and funk, progressing to a smooth pop-funk ensemble. They have sold over 70 million albums worldwide.
Another one of my projects is finished, and I am proud to offer to all of you this compilation. It took a few days to do this. It took three hours to do the final phases of this project which is doing the mix on the fly, recording it, remastering it, uploading and posting it to this blog.
So you think it is easy to make one good mix? I know you guys are only after my mixes and once you have downloaded it you just walk away without even saying "THANK YOU". How long will it take you to post a comment? I'd say a about 30 seconds so if you cannot even do that, SHAME ON YOU!
All of you should be thankful that I allow you all to download my mixes for free.
Anyways I am very busy with work and with working on my classic cars and blogging takes a lot of my time that I sometimes think it is a waste of my precious time.
If you want to be the first to get my mixes and some sampler mixes which I never post here in my blog go to my Facebook fan page "DJ Dave Pineda" and you will get the mixes ahead of time. I normally post my mixes on my fan page first before this blog.
I already accomplished my goal which was to make this blog hit the top 1 million sites. This happened last September 2009 which was the first anniversary of this blog. I worked hard to get to that ranking and now I am content by just doing a few mixes a month not one or two mixes a day.
This mix consists mostly of the later more popular hits from the mid 70's to the late 80's.
Mixed and recorded on the fly. 100% Original Vinyl.
Peace,
Dave

Flageolette

Flageolette is your place for Latin, funk, break beats and all sorts of jazz. The blog has been around since 2008 and thus hosts hundreds of posts: AcidJazz (59 posts), Freestyle (99), Funk (118), Soul-Jazz (95), Triphop (56) and a lot more. Most of the music here is out-of-print, widely unavailable releases and/or otherwise hard to come by. I have seen Toets Thielemans, Madhouse and a cool record named "Vampyros Lesbos". Flageolette is definitely worth checking out for your daily funky sounds. Enjoy!

Shack Attack

Banbarra released 'Shack Up' in 1975 and it's pretty much never went away. I think everybody knows the chorus to this. I've not beasted it too much, just a longer intro and outro for us disco jockeys.

Stratusphere

A favourite of mine from the vaults here. The stupidly good drummer of drummers, Billy Cobham laying down maybe one of his best know tracks (Massive Attack sampled it) and in the process showing that we could all get into psychadelic-jazz-funk. Just go easy on the LSD.
