A favourite of mine from the vaults here. The stupidly good drummer of drummers, Billy Cobham laying down maybe one of his best know tracks (Massive Attack sampled it) and in the process showing that we could all get into psychadelic-jazz-funk. Just go easy on the LSD.

What does deep house mixed at 130 bpm sound like?

Howdy everyone,

So you love deep house yet sometimes you what something with a little more movement...a little faster. I was wondering the other day what it would sound like if I really pushed up the bpm (beats per minute) to 130. Last night I had some extra energy (caffeine) and decided to record a quick half hour deep house set mixed at 130 bpm. Most of the mixes are good, some small slippage yet please provide your feedback about the sound and flow of fast, deep house.

New Mint DJ set at This Week at Beatport

Howdy Everyone,

I am very pleased and surprised that Pete Smalls continues to invite me to contribute a DJ set with all the technicall hoopes I ask him to jump through. Thank you Pete. (My love/hate technology relationship!) The set can be found over at This Week at Beatport. Sign up for the podcast if you haven't already done it. Pete puts together both sets each week in a "show" format including his awesome Tour de Genre sets.

It is a techy and progressive house set this time out. I totally dig the vibe which is different than what I have done in the past. The mixing is a bit sloppy in the beginning yet rocks once I get into my groove. (No excuses, I need to practice more!)
